The Defender of the Environment & Social Justice Initiative (DESJI), in partnership with WINCO and the Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Environment, marked the 2025 World Environment Day with a symbolic tree planting exercise at Model Primary School, Uyo. The event, themed “Restore Our Earth,” aimed to promote environmental awareness and instill a culture of sustainability among young learners. Pupils and officials actively participated in planting over 50 trees, reinforcing the importance of reforestation and community-led environmental action in tackling climate change and preserving the ecosystem for future generations.
